The Far-Right and Progressive Approach Toward Immigration

Curtailing immigration has been a linchpin of former President Donald Trump's platform. His simplistic solution has been to shut down the southern borders of the United States, using the slogan "Build the Wall" as a rallying cry for his supporters. For Trump and his surrogates, this rhetoric masks deeper racial motivations, as it disproportionately targets people of color. Immigrants, particularly those from Latin America, are often painted as the source of all societal ills. This tactic mirrors the vilification of Jews preceding Adolf Hitler’s rise to power in Nazi Germany. Trump's followers, many of whom align with the “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) movement, often overlook these historical parallels, blindly following a demagogue who offers scapegoats for complex problems.   To Trump, immigration represents an existential threat to the American way of life, and his solutions reflect this fear. Harris and Trump Debate: What Was Not Mentioned

I would be remiss not to mention that this post falls on September 11, the anniversary of the 2001 attacks on the Twin Towers in New York City. Neither candidate acknowledged this pivotal moment in U.S. history. The tragic events of that day led to the U.S. and its allies launching invasions of both Iraq and Afghanistan, which resulted in the deaths of over 7,000 U.S. service members and hundreds of thousands of civilians in the two countries . Yet, the specter of American imperialism, and its consequences, remains a topic neither candidate dares to address. Key Issues Not Addressed by Vice President Kamala Harris During the debate, several important issues were conspicuously absent from Vice President Kamala Harris’s statements, despite being of significant concern to Progressives: Income Inequality : The gap between the wealthy and the poor has only widened in recent year...

Senator Bernie Sanders Interview at Democrat Party National Convention (DNC) with Politico

Senator Bernie Sanders made several compelling points about the nation's current direction in a recent interview with Politico at the Democratic National Convention (DNC). Sanders emphasized key issues that Vice President Kamala Harris and the Democratic Party should prioritize. You can watch the interview in its entirety at the following link: [Bernie Sanders Interview at DNC]( https://youtu.be/GVGHziHVqJY?si=IqiE2Z3J_GEWqlSw ). According to Sanders, the critical issues that Harris and the Democratic Party need to address include: 1. Income Inequality: Sanders highlighted the growing divide between the wealthiest Americans and the rest of the population. He argued that the concentration of wealth in the hands of a few is detrimental to the nation's social and economic fabric. The Democratic Party, he contended, must take bold steps to ensure a fairer distribution of wealth and opportunity. 2. Healthcare and Medicare for All: Sanders reaffirmed his long-standing advocacy ...
